Description

:iconconflict-of-elden:
Group's about to open tmr so I finally did my app. >3 Got tired of towards the end so I didn't end up shading it an awful a lot... but keeping my fingers crossed to see if I'll get in ahahahaha. Figured I'd add another character to my Eskreven collection so a lot of her design is based off of the assassin/thief/spy line of work... there are some elements of her design which echo Cal's but that's intentional. Either way, here's the full profile.

Planning on her being an Angel.

Name: Miruru Harvenshire

Level: 1

Age: 22

Job: Herbalist/Chemist
She like to collect rare and exotic plants but her main source of income is mixing potions for other people.

Personality: Miruru is the image of the sweet, naive child. Because of her very sheltered childhood, she may seem a bit clueless about many things and thus often much younger than her 22 years. Behavior wise, she is usually very calm and in control of herself - she considers it very unladylike to betray too much of her thoughts or emotions in front of a public audience. She does enjoy crowds and festivals, though often she will be the one at the sides watching with a content smile rather than the one partaking in the fun. She is, however, by no means shy or demure - Miruru is no blushing damsel in distress. Her words are often very straightforward and measured, as she like to put some thought into what she is saying in order to have the desired effect and to avoid unforeseen consequences. Sometimes she could seem a bit tactless, but that will only because she is trying to be truthful. She does not shun or shy away from the company of man, though she has grown to be very wary of strangers as she has learned the hard way that people often act with ulterior motives. She does enjoy the thrill of competition, however, and even on her best behavior cannot refuse to gloat a little sometimes about how good she is at what she does.

History: Miruru grew up on the estate of Lord Thanassen Eskreven, a lord who made a hobby out of collecting orphaned and abandoned children. Indeed, Miruru was one of them - though she was hazy as to how she ended up under Thanassen's tutelage, she was always keenly aware of two things: Thanassen Eskreven was not her father, and that he wanted her more than her real parents did. Since childhood, she was trained - as the handful of other children were - to blend in under all circumstances. She took lessons - dancing, speech, reading, art, philosophy, acting - and underwent rigorous physical exercises. Though always curious as to why they were being given these chores, Miruru rarely questioned what she was told to do - as she and the others were rarely let outside of the estate, they had only each other as family and their way of life was the only one they knew. As far as Miruru was concerned, everyone - even those outside of their bubble - grew up the same way.

Thanassen Eskreven collected these children for one purpose - to train a personal retinue of special 'aides' loyal only to him. They would serve as spies, assassins, traders, or whatever he needed them to be. Each and everyone of them would go through general training, and then specialize once they were older enough to voice a preference. After a long stroll on a late summer eve with the lord, who was more like a father figure than not, Miruru began private lessons with the lord's personal apothecary and was assigned duties with the estate's master gardener. Slowly, her lessons in the arts eased off and she began to learn more and more about plants, their properties, and eventually, mixing different things to reach a desired effect. It was not long before her coursework narrowed down to two things: creating poisons and antidotes. Though she had her suspicions as her groupmates began leaving one by one, returning only between long stretches, she focused on her own work without trying to worry why she was left behind. Fenris would often keep her company as she strolled through the vast estate, reciting the names and recipes of potions and brews and trying to create new ones.

It wasn't until she was of age did Thanassen finally hand her first assignment outside of the estate. The naive girl departed for Meavrios with her heads in the clouds. What she found shocked her - war, famine, disease, poverty. Much disheartened, Miruru sought to complete the mission she had been given as quickly as possible in order to return to the shelter of her Lord's estate. However, realizing upon completion of her duties that the harsh reality of the outside world will continue persist whether or not she was a part of it, she decided to remain instead on the road as a traveling merchant. She officially resigned from Eskreven's service with a very short but concise letter, though due to fear that the man will consider what she did a betrayal of his trust and love, Miruru has been careful to stay out of the spotlight. As her skills as a potion maker is much sought after, she rarely stayed in one spot very long. She has been a wandering salesman for over three years now.
